Your retreat above the Linth plain: a lovingly furnished chalet with a large balcony, its own garden and views of the mountains of Glarus, Schwyz and St. Gallen.
The entire house is yours to enjoy with your fellow travellers. Two living floors provide space for up to six guests – for family holidays, time with friends or a longer break.

The entrance floor has the fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a toilet and shower. You can also access the large balcony from here.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms with skylights. The first is a connecting room with a television. There is a washing machine in the basement, and a tumble dryer is also available.
A house with a history
In 1981, a carpentry business from nearby Toggenburg built the chalet using the region’s traditional timber construction methods. Later, a small advertising agency used it for creative planning and client projects.
Since late March 2007, the house has belonged to the Christian Anderegg-Lutz family, who have lived on the Benkner Büchel since 1981. In the same year, the interior was fully renovated and most of the exterior renewed. Furnished with care and attention to detail, it is now a welcoming place for your holidays.

Location and surroundings.
The chalet stands on the Benkner Büchel, also known as the upper Buchberg, in the heart of the Linth plain. The hill is a medial moraine of the Linth glacier. From here, you look out towards the mountains of Glarus, Schwyz and St. Gallen.
In Benken village, you’ll find shops, a butcher, a bakery, restaurants serving local specialities, a Raiffeisen bank, a post office and a doctor. Your hosts recommend the chicken dinners at the Kamer family’s farm in Doggen, held on Fridays in summer.
How to find us
By car, take the A3 motorway, leave at exit 42 Reichenburg and follow signs for Benken. Zurich, St. Gallen and Lucerne are around an hour’s drive away. Allow about 50–60 minutes for Liechtenstein and Feldkirch in Austria.

Access to the chalet
Access from below is via a staircase with 35 steps, with landings between each group of five steps. The staircase has no handrail. The chalet therefore does not have step-free access.
House rules
- For a maximum of six guests.
- Minimum stay: 3 nights.
- Smoking and vaping are only permitted outside the house.
- No parties or events.
- Please enquire about pets before booking.
Safety
A smoke alarm is provided. Our neighbourhood is very safe. Please also take care on the staircase without a handrail.
